The U.S. News - Best Lawyers organization recognized Decof, Barry, Mega & Quinn, P.C. as one of their 2020 “Best Law Firms” honorees!
Best Lawyers is an awards program that identifies the top lawyers and legal practices in the nation, and shares their findings with the public. They release annual publications with a list of the winners, which serves as a guide for people seeking legal representation.
To be eligible for a “Best Law Firms” award, a legal practice must have at least one team member who was honored in the most recent Best Lawyers publication. Two of our partners, Attorney Mark B. Decof and Attorney Patrick C. Barry, were included in the 26th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America this year! Attorney Decof has received a Best Lawyers award every year since 2003, and was their Providence, RI “Lawyer of the Year” in 2017. Since 2007, he has been recognized as a Top 10 “Super Lawyers” honoree in Rhode Island and as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in New England. Attorney Barry was named the 2018 “Lawyer of the Year” by Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly, and has been recognized by “Super Lawyers” every year since 2010.
Firms that qualify for the awards can submit an application which includes a survey about their practice, along with feedback from clients and professional references. The application information is then converted through a point system, which qualifies a firm for inclusion on the awards list.
Rather than ranking each firm individually, Best Lawyers uses a tier system to award their “Best Law Firms” choices. Our firm was chosen as a “Tier 1” selection for Rhode Island in the category of “Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs.”
