Mike Quinn is a highly accomplished trial lawyer with a focus on representing victims of tragic losses and catastrophic physical injuries. He joined Decof, Barry, Mega & Quinn, P.C. in 2010 and has since handled all types of serious injury cases, with a particular focus on medical negligence cases. Prior to joining the firm, Mike spent the start of his career at another firm defending hospitals, doctors, and other professionals in malpractice actions. This experience provides him with a unique understanding of the challenges that medical professionals face on a day-to-day basis.

As the youngest trial lawyer with multiple seven-figure jury verdicts in Rhode Island, Mike has recovered over $150 million for clients of the firm. He holds the largest personal injury trial judgment in Rhode Island history of $62 million. He regularly tries cases in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and has obtained some of the highest settlements and verdicts in a wide range of medical malpractice cases, including cases of cerebral palsy, birth trauma, sepsis, spinal cord injuries, amputations, heart attacks, and strokes.

Mike grew up in the Apponaug section of Warwick, Rhode Island. He earned a spot in the incoming class of the United States Military Academy at West Point on the appointment of the late Senator John Chafee. After a medical disqualification cost him his dream of earning a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army, he was accepted to the University of Rhode Island, he earned his law degree from Villanova University in 2006.

After six years of defending healthcare providers in malpractice actions, Mike joined Decof & Decof in 2010, where he has dedicated all his energy to representing regular people who have experienced life-changing injuries and losses. He has developed a particular expertise in cases involving babies, children, and young families. In addition to his medical malpractice work, he has also represented people harmed by construction negligence, legal malpractice, nursing home negligence, defective products, unsafe property, and serious car crashes.

Mike has been voted a top lawyer and Super Lawyer by his peers every year since 2009 and was voted Rhode Island’s “Lawyer of the Year” in 2017. He is also active in his legal community as a speaker and author and is regularly asked to offer advice on trial tactics and the rules of evidence.

When not at the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and their five young children. They are active in their parish at Our Lady of Mercy in East Greenwich, where their older sons can be found altar serving on most weekends. He also enjoys spending time by the ocean, where he spent much of his childhood surfing and fishing.
