Rhode Island Airline Negligence Lawyers

Aviation Accident Attorneys Who Fight for You

Injuries that occur during flight can be complicated. You may wonder who is at fault and what steps you need to take to ensure you are protected. Injuries from falling luggage, airplane turbulence, and/or food-cart run-ins are all connected to airline negligence. In these cases, your injury may be cause for a negligence claim, one in which you will need proper representation. Our team at Decof, Barry, Mega & Quinn, P.C. works with integrity and professionalism to help victims of airline accidents hold the airlines accountable and obtain the settlements they are due.

What Determines Negligence?

Passengers can be injured on a flight for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Most commonly, in-flight injuries are caused by luggage falling from overhead bins.
  • Food carts can sometimes injure seated passengers by striking shoulders, elbows, knees or feet as they are pushed by, or even cause injury to passengers moving about the cabin.
  • Turbulence can cause injury to passengers who are thrown from their seats or who are moving about the cabin.

To determine if your injury resulted from negligence, you must prove that the defendant was careless in their actions and that the law required the defendant to be reasonably careful. Negligence can be on the shoulders of the flight attendants, pilot, maintenance worker, ground crew member or airline crew member. The standards airlines are held to are higher than “normal” because they are considered “common carriers,” or entities that carry the general public for a fee. This requires them to act with extra vigilance and attention to ensure the safety of their passengers.

Injured Due to Airline Negligence? We Can Help.

If you were injured in an in-flight accident that you believe was caused by negligence, you may have a case. You should not have to pay for your damages or losses due to the carelessness of someone else. Let our attorneys at Decof, Barry, Mega & Quinn, P.C. assist you so you can receive the maximum compensation possible.
