Jennifer A. Barry

Ms. Barry became an associate of Decof & Decof, P.C. in September of 1997. Ms. Barry spent the first few years of her practice working with the firm’s team of trial attorneys handling the professional liability actions arising out of RISDIC credit union crisis. She now represents families of clients who have died and clients who have been catastrophically injured as a result of medical malpractice. As part of this practice Ms. Barry has represented clients in the Rhode Island Supreme Court, the Rhode Island Superior Court and the United States District Court for the district of Rhode Island.

Ms. Barry graduated from Bates College with a joint degree in economics and political science (B.A. 1993) and Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law (J.D., 1996). During law school Ms. Barry served as an intern to Senior United States District Judge Alexander Harvey, II of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Ms. Barry was also an active member of the Columbus School of Law’s Moot Court Association and represented the school at the 1995 National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the 1996 Freedom Forum National First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Nashville, Tennessee.

Prior to joining Decof & Decof, P.C., Ms. Barry spent one year serving Rhode Island Supreme Court Chief Justice Frank J. Williams as a Law Clerk while the Chief Justice was serving as an Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court (1996 – 1997).

Jennifer is admitted to the Rhode Island State Bar, the Federal Bar for the District of Rhode Island, the Massachusetts State Bar, the Federal Bar for the District of Massachusetts, and the Maryland State Bar. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association and an associate member of the Roger Williams American Inn of Court.
