Education

Ms. Allaire Johnson graduated from Providence College (B.A. cum laude, 1993) and Roger Williams University School of Law (J.D. 1997). She was a Rhode Island Supreme Court Law Clerk for the Rhode Island Superior Court 1997-1998.

Biography

Prior to joining Decof & Decof in 2010, Ms. Allaire Johnson served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General for over 12 years. During that time, Ms. Allaire Johnson spent much of her career protecting the elderly, prosecuting criminal cases, and advocating for the State of Rhode Island. As the elderly Affairs Liaison for the Criminal Division, she assisted local police departments and state police in the investigation and prosecution of crimes involving elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. Ms. Allaire Johnson has conducted numerous trainings for local and state police departments on the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of elder abuse cases. She was a presenter for the National Business Institute on Elder Abuse in Rhode Island. Ms. Allaire Johnson also worked in the Attorney General’s Civil Division as a trial lawyer in the Government Litigation Unit where she practiced in the trial and appellate courts in the state of Rhode Island and the Federal District Court for the District of Rhode Island and U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Ms. Allaire Johnson has experience handling high profile cases and complex litigation as a member of the lead paint litigation team that brought a ground breaking action on behalf of the State of Rhode Island against lead pigment manufacturers in State of Rhode Island vs. Lead Industries Association et al. She represented the state in the Rhode Island Supreme Court on the appeal of that case.

Memberships

Ms. Allaire Johnson is an active participant in the Rhode Island Bar Association and member of the Rhode Island Association for Justice. She has been a member of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Inns of Court. For several years, she has volunteered for the Rhode Island Legal Education Partnership as a performance judge for numerous mock trial tournaments.
