Vincent T. Cannon has practiced with the firm of Decof and Decof since 1981. He is admitted to the bar in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and before the United States District Court, Districts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts; U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Areas of practice

Mr. Cannon focuses his practice in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, and insurance litigation. He has represented numerous clients in complex matters in these areas, and has tried cases before the state and federal courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Memberships

Mr. Cannon has been accepted as an associate member by the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and American Bar Associations; Rhode Island Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. He has received the highest rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which rates lawyers throughout the country for legal ability and ethical standards.

Mr. Cannon serves as a member of the Rhode Island Medical-Legal Committee (1982- present), and has served on the Rhode Island Superior Court Bench-Bar Committee and as a delegate to the Rhode Island Bar Association’s House of Delegates.

Education

Mr. Cannon graduated from Providence College (B.A., 1970), University of Rhode Island (M.C.P., 1975) and Suffolk University (J.D., cum laude, 1979), where he was a member of the Suffolk University Law Review (1977-1979).

Biography

Prior to joining Decof & Decof, Mr. Cannon served as law clerk to the Honorable Anthony N. Votolato, Jr., U.S. bankruptcy judge for the District of Rhode Island.
