She graduated from the University of Vermont (B.A., 1980), and Suffolk University (J.D., 1983). She also attended Northwestern University (Prosecutor’s School, 1984).

Biography

Attorney Di Donato litigates cases at the state court and federal levels. Some of her cases include the prosecution of serious personal injury and death claims arising out of defendants driving while intoxicated. At times, these cases have included claims of dram shop/liquor liability. Lawyers Weekly of Rhode Island has published several articles concerning the favorable decisions Attorney Di Donato has obtained:  Pelchat v. Commercial Union Insurance Company (RI Supreme Court – Slayer’s Act/liquor liability); Fortes v. Ramos (Superior Court – medical malpractice); Porter v. Nordic Lodge, Inc. (Superior Court – liquor liability).

Prior to joining Decof & Decof, P.C., Attorney Di Donato served as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island. She has also served as a justice of the peace/bail commissioner for the district and family courts of the State of Rhode Island (1985 -1989) and as assistant solicitor for the Town of Charlestown (1986-1987). As well, Attorney Di Donato has been a lecturer at Providence College and Roger Williams University. She also routinely participates in mock trials with the Rhode Island Mock Trial Tournament.
